Member of the French Consular Council in the Netherlands since 2021, Pierre Lavéant joined la France Insoumise during the 2017 presidential elections, creating an action group for The Hague.
In 2021 he was also elected a member of the AFE, Assemblée des Français de l’Étranger (Assembly of French citizens abroad), in the united left group that represents a third of the assembly. He is also a member of Français du monde adfe and elected to the board of the Netherlands section in 2018.
