Marlène Benquet

As a sociologist and political scientist, she specializes in the study of finance, modes of accumulation, the financialization of companies, political life, and end-of-life issues. She is the author of several major works, including Alt-Finance: How the City of London Bought Democracy and Authoritarian Finance: Towards the End of Neoliberalism, in which she explores contemporary profit strategies and policies of dispossession.

Committed to the Institut de La Boétie, she provides a rich analysis of the rise of the far-right within political structures and business circles in her contribution to the book: “Far-Right: The Resistible Rise.”
