Jonas Sjöstedt is an MEP for the Vänsterpartiet (Sweden), member of the Delegation for relations with Central Asia.
In August 2018, he criticized the tightening of immigration laws in Sweden and rejected what he called a “competition in Europe to have the strictest policies”, arguing for the reintroduction of permanent residence permits and family reunification rights.
